David Interprets in Japan Deaf Conference

David with the some Deaf delegates at

Hiroshima's Peace Park and A-bomb museum

Without question, the WDAG was the biggest event that we planned or participated in during 2009.  Deaf delegates from 19 countries attended this tri-annual international AG Deaf event. Japan makes the 3rd world conference where David has interpreted for U.S.A. Deaf delegates. He had the priviledge of coordinating the 3-member team this year. Kazahkstan is scheduled to host the 2012 conference. Thank you to all who contributed so that David could serve in this great meeting.

Family Events

Barbara continues to serve the family and Deaf Missions in a variety of ways

Barbara is still the best wife in the world! (except for your wife, of course!).  She not only manages to hold down a household, but does so while homeschooling 2 boys (www.robbschool.com) and keeping up with a 2 year old at that same time. The boys have the privilege of participating in a home school co-op from Covenant Fellowship.  Barbara also serves the Deaf ministry by providing children's ministry to families during the Deaf services (Isaac and Drew serve with her), and she cooks a full dinner for approximately 15 people every two weeks at the Philly Deaf North chat meeting. Beyond that, she's has continued to serve as the Bible Quiz Coordinator for the South Philly Calvary Temple BQ team.

The children are growing like weeds and Ana Sofia is learning more words than we ever hoped  she would (smile).  She proves to be a quick learner. We expect her to be driving by age 5.  Isaac and Barbara served as staff at a week-long "Special Touch" camp this summer and had a great time doing it. Because of that experience, Isaac knew how to deal with a Downs Syndrome drum student this past week who attends the same music school in Philadelphia, when the boy accidently took his book and wouldn't give it back : ).  Wow! The boys are not only growing, they're maturing. It's a neat thing to encourage and watch happen.

Our First 5K Run

A friend from the Pittsburgh Deaf ministry community, Aunt Misa, trained for and joined Barbara, Isaac and Drew for their first ever 5K run.  It's funny how long it takes to prepare for a run that is finished in less than an hour.

David as Deaf Ministry Contact for the Pennsylvania-Delaware District

David continues serving Hearing churches and interpreters as the Penn-Del District Deaf Ministry Contact/Coordinator.

Teaching Sign Language at VFCC

David continues serving as an adjunct faculty member at Valley Forge Christian College when there are enough students who sign up to take the American Sign Language class.

Serving as the AG National Deaf Fellowship Webmaster

It's not terrific, but we're improving the website every month.  You can see it at:  www.NFDeaf.com

David Preaches the North East Deaf Men's Retreat in NY

David took Drew with him to the New York state N.E. Deaf Mens' Retreat.  Davd preached on the theme of "Front Line Man," calling men to step up and take responsibility for their own soul, their Family, and the Church.

Impact Prayer - Philadelphia

Philly Deaf hosted the annual I.P. in Nov. 2009.  Impact Prayer is an annual event, when AG credentialed pastors come together for 3 days of prayer, fasting, and discussion on how to best serve those who work in the American Deaf church.
